Repair and restore

Amp humming?  Clicks and pops?  Bad tech job?  Find a rare Blonde Fender Bassman at a garage sale for $5 in less than working condition?

Give us a call.  We’ll do anything from a quick bias job to a complete restoration of any vintage tube amp.  In the case of restorations we will endeavour to use as many period accurate components as we can find.  We can even source original, NOS components in some cases, to preserve the vintage value of your amp, or use new reproduction parts to get as close as possible.

We take great care in researching and planning any repair or restoration to ensure everything we do brings it as close as it can get to the look and tone it had when it left the shop!

We specialize in restoring Marshall, Fender, Orange, Vox and vintage Traynor amps.  (Actually, we really love getting old Traynors…  It’s our way of being patriotic.)

You’ve got an old all tube PA amp and you’ve read on the interwebs that it’ll make a great Marshall with just a few tweaks…  We can do that!  Well ok, not always, but if you have an amp that’s never really had ‘The’ tone you want, we might be able to help.  From minor tweaks like adding a ‘true’ bias control, to moderate tweaks like ‘blackfacing’, to all out gutting and rebuilding of a custom circuit in an existing chassis.  While there are certainly limits to what we can do (or sometimes what we’re willing to do!), the sky is often the limit!

Who are We?

Founded on the idea that you can have boutique tone and build quality without having to pay boutique prices.  We build, repair and restore tube guitar amps with a focus on doing excellent quality work, for fair prices.  We know that tone is all about proper design and build, not about exotic parts and fancy boxes.  It is our firm belief that whatever product or service we provide, you will always get the best tone and value your money can buy.

Our Shop Is Green

We haven’t colonized Mars just yet, so as it stands, this is the only home we have!  We do our best to minimize our footprint here on this planet.   We use lead-free solder and RoHS compliant parts in all builds and repairs.  In addition we reclaim all old lead solder and any hazardous parts (like PCB-oil containing filter caps) and ensure they are properly disposed of or recycled.
